The Cortland County IDA is the county’s lead economic development agency and coordinates incentives for large scale projects that produce significant investment and job creation, with a particular focus on manufacturing-related projects. The IDA plans and implements marketing efforts both inside and outside of Cortland County that target the expansion of existing businesses and the establishment of new businesses in the county. The IDA also leases over 30 miles of railroad track in the county to the New York, Susquehanna & Western RR and for companies not positioned on the rail lines, there is a cooperative truck transfer in the City of Cortland that allows those companies to take advantage of the railroads.
